Logitech NetPlay Controller (Sony Playstation 1 & 2) Review

Logitech NetPlay Controller (Sony Playstation 1 and 2)
Average Reviews:

I only half heartingly reccomend this item.. solely because there isnt anything comparable out there other than a seperate keyboard .. which usually runs 19.99.. If you can find this item on sale.. i would say if you must.. get it.. its faults..
(all on ffxi as what i have played it on)
the dpad isnt very accurate.. when scrolling numbers in AH it sometimes goes left when i want to go up..
the keyboard is super sensitive.. making me tyyyyyyyyyyyyype like thissssssssssssss.
As i played it.. a few months later... the left stick began to fault.. now it veers to the left almost always.. and will move forward when i am not pushing anything. it, too, doesnt control accuratly
the vibration function will cause it to switch the analog mode off so the sticks dont work.. very annoying.
luckily.. ffxi doesnt require much in the line of exact control... so I am fine with it.. until it eventually completely quits..
the unit would be useless to control a platforming type game that requires more exact control.
To be fair, customer service did offer to fix it.. but who wants to be w/o a controller while already addicted to ffxi?

Samsung Pleomax PKB-700B Ergonomic Keyboard (Black) Review

Samsung Pleomax PKB-700B Ergonomic Keyboard (Black)
Average Reviews:

I wish I had heeded the other review of this product. I thought the reports of keys not working was confined to a few of these keyboards and that the other user had gotten unlucky. After all this is Samsung product, not some keyboard made by some little no-name company. Now I see that the keyboard failures are either due to a design defect or the result of terrible quality control. I needed a small PS/2 keyboard without media keys for extensive writing and this seemed to fit the bill. It is nice and small for a full sized keyboard, it is very inexpensive, and it looks good. However it simply doesn't work. On mine, the F and Del would not work and the space bar fell off after about 10 minutes of use. Make sure to skip this product. I just purchased a Microsoft wired keyboard and I'm returning this.

PS/2 Female to USB Male Adapter Review

PS/2 Female to USB Male Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this to use it with my old Dell PS/2 keyboard (which was a genuine PS/2 product) This adapter has nothing to do adapting a PS/2 device into a USB port. Apparently it only works on PS/2 devices that originally come with a PS/2 to USB adapter in the first place (and you need this in the case where you lost the original one). Item description MUST state this fact but it doesn't. What you probably need is a $10-$20 range "real" PS/2 to USB adapter which probably has a PS/2-USB transcoding circuit.

Sabrent SBT-CPS2 USB to Dual PS/2 Converter Cable Adapter Review

Sabrent SBT-CPS2 USB to Dual PS/2 Converter Cable Adapter

I've amassed quite a collection of mice and keyboards over the years and they all were in perfect condition. The only problem was that they could not be used on my new laptop because the plug-thingies(Geek squad, please forgive my lingo) were round insted of flat like the ports in most new PCs. Instead of buying yet another mouse and keyboard, I purchased this adapter thingy and now I just plug the old mouse/keyboard into the round ends and the flat end plugs directly into my laptop. Perfect solution for a non-tekkie type

Adesso PS/2 to USB Adapter, connects 2 PS/2 connectors to 1 USB port/hub (ADP-PU21 ) Review

Adesso PS/2 to USB Adapter, connects 2 PS/2 connectors to 1 USB port/hub (ADP-PU21 )

I'm one of those IBM Model-M "clicky keyboard" people. I won't use any keyboard but an IBM Model-M.
Unfortunately, the Model-M keyboard uses a PS/2 connection and does not interface to newer USB only computers.
So, an IBM keyboard user needs a PS/2 to USB adapter.
There are adapters out there which simply cross the wires. These DO NOT work with the Model M.
There are adapters out there with an active controller chip in them which (supposedly) properly converts the PS/2 signal format into USB.
Now, here's the big point... the PS/2 protocol is bi-directional. That is, the keyboard sends signals to the computer, BUT the computer can also send signals to the keyboard (such as "turn on the num lock lamp" or "do a reset").
I've tried every active controller that I could find with my Model M keyboard.
NONE of them sent communications back TO the printer... except the Adesso adapter.
The Adesso adapter sends all data transactions between the keyboard and computer... in both directions.
I was using a different adapter before and had random problems such as no reset (I had to momentarily unplug the keyboard) and the worst problem was multiple keystrokes.
Sometimes it would do thissssssssssssss

Cables Unlimted ADP5210 PS/2 Mice and Keyboards To USB Port Adapter Review

Cables Unlimted ADP5210 PS/2 Mice and Keyboards To USB Port Adapter
Average Reviews:

The adaptor, advertised as "the perfect solution for connecting your input device to other ports on your computer," does not work with a regular PS/2 keyboard connnector and a USB port on a Dell laptop. A customer support person from TigerDirect, which sells them, explained that the stuff they sell is not supposed to work "with those proprietary machines like Dell or Compaq, only with the machines made from scratch." Of course, such nonsense could never be included in the product description. The agent's supervisor said the agent was "incorrect," promised to speak to him and his manager (the possible content of that discussion was not disclosed), and offered a return authorization number, with reimbursement that does not cover the initial shipping. As that shipping cost more than the adaptor ($7.04 vs. $4.99), there is no way to recover the loss.

Logitech Deluxe Access Keyboard Review

Logitech Deluxe Access Keyboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this keyboard for two systems I built (one for myself and one for someone else) six months ago. I love it, and neither of the keyboards have had any problems. It types easily and quietly and has a nice array of functions for an inexpensive keyboard. It took a little bit to get used to hitting the F-Lock key to access F1-F12, but it has never caused me any problems. I can count on one hand the number of times I've forgotten to hit the F-Lock key in the past six months. I use the function keys for their other functions 90% of the time, anyway. The media player controls (previous track, next track, play/pause, and stop), along with the My Computer/Documents/Pictures/Music keys are the most helpful. I like the fact the media key brings up a menu, since I use about 3 different media players on a regular basis. It only has a PS/2 connection, so if you're looking for USB, this isn't the keyboard for you. I prefer to not waste a USB port on a keyboard, when I have plenty of other things that require USB. Logitech makes quality products that last. I used to work retail, and the Logitech products didn't come back very often, compared to Microsoft mice and keyboards which came back frequently. I would definitely recommend this keyboard for its price, quality and functionality.
