(More customer reviews)The real advantage to this keyboard is its range, it works for 20-30 feet. The setup in XP with the IOgear GPU421 required the IOgear driver installation.
A Sony Z1WA laptop with built in bluetooth installation did not require any driver instalation.
Windows 7 beta 7000 64 bit installed without a hitch.
The only problem is that the mouse is a little slow and not as smooth as with the other wireless products mentioned below. I set the mouse speed very fast and turned off the "enhance pointer precision" option in Control Panel mouse settings and that helped some.
I have a microsoft wireless keyboard mouse combo and the Adesso WKB-4000, the range on the microsoft is very short, only a few feet. The Adesso is acceptable, maybe 10 feet, however sometimes it is shorter due to interference from other devices. Both have very smooth mouse movement compared to this Bluetooth keyboard (ASK-3962).

iConcepts IR Keyboard Review

(More customer reviews)This keyboard, when folded and in its case, is slightly smaller a woman's hand (aka my hand). Still, alot of its bulk does not seem necessary. There is a thick silver plastic attatched shell around the actual keyboard that makes it harder to depress the space key and adds to the size greatly. The keyboard itself, however, is well made and not unattractive. Unfortunately, it uses button batteries instead of the AAA employed by the Micro Innovations wireless keyboard model.
The stand that comes with the keyboard for your PDA looks like something from a dollar store. It is at once the flimsiest, cheapest, most pathetic piece of 'equipment' I have ever seen. The stand folds up, in a complicated puzzle-like way, into a single thick flat black box the size of two credit cards. Figuring out how to set it up the first time was an exercise in patience...I was mainly worried about snapping the thin joints attatched to the piece of reflective plastic that serves as a mirror.
The wirelessness of this device is accomplished through communication through IRA transmission. Unfortunately, it takes FOREVER to find the right location for the keyboard so that you can type. I spent ten whole minutes the first time experimentally hitting keys and adjusting the mirror so that the IRA port on my PDA could 'communicate' with the one on the keyboard. It is not easy to set up, I wouldn't suggest this device if you needed to get it out in a hurry...like to take notes for class or something. The fastest way to connect is to type with the PDA upside down with its port pointing directly to the keyboard's port.
Another major problem with the keyboard is the fact that it does not snap into place. Unless it is on a solid surface, the two sides of the keyboard are apt to slide apart and bend in the middle, making it impossible to type with it on the go.
The keyboard comes with a badly made and rather large ugly synthetic leather case with a pocket for the keyboard and one for the stand.

Not sure why Amazon doesn't allow me to change the numbers of stars on the review. Well, I need to, because I am kind of disappointed after using this for a few months. The keys on the keyboard have become kind of stiff. Two keys (8 and o) work only if I am lucky. At some point, they completely stopped working. I submitted an RMA request to Belkin (yes, they have an online form for that), but they haven't responded after a month. Anyway, the keys started working sporadically afterwards, and I don't use it much, so I didn't bother to follow up with Belkin on the RMA. But, I am not sure if this is a product that I want to recommend to anyone.
** Original Review **
Installation was easy and straight forward. In the picture, the right portion (the numeric pad) is part of the base that is connected to a USB port. The left portion (the alphabets part of the keyboard) rests on the base for charging and can be removed for wireless operation.
The wireless keyboard works on RF which means it doesn't have to be in a line of sight with the PC. It works very well upto 30ft. The universal remote (of course) uses IR. I haven't really tested this part.
The mouse is on the top end of the keyboard with the track ball on the right and the click and scroll buttons on the left. It makes it very convenient to hold and operate. The track ball needs a little getting used to.
Overall a good buy for a PC connected to the home theater.

It worked ok, the included stand didnt go so hot, but i could put the zaurus in portrait mode with some software i cant remember what, sit it flat on the table and type ok. Had phenomenal battery life. Now I don't even remember where it is, i'm just writing this review to stop amazon from reminding me.
Oh, the one thing that bugged me is that there are a LOT of missing keys, numbers and such are only typeable through button combinations, that's why it's so small. It's a real slower-downer.

(More customer reviews)If your looking for a fair low cost keyboard and mouse combo this might work for you... and that's a might. When first receiving my combo I was happy with the overall appearance and light weight set, the packaging was ok. Included is a very brief manual in several languages, batteries and the keyboard + mouse. The color is a slight blue/gray not black and not just gray. The keyboard does have quite a few special feature keys but none are programable to other functions. My only real problem came with the mouse, which after placing the batteries in the battery compartment and closing the lid the power would cut out and the mouse was un-usable. This was caused by a mold problem in the battery compartment and after cutting away a piece of the plastic was able to close the lid and still have power to the mouse. I was then shocked that the mouse would stop working after a time of not being used, it seems to have a built in function for battery storage and goes "to sleep" after about 5 minutes of setting still. Moving the mouse won't turn it back on, you have to click the left button and wait a short time for it to startup and work again. If you want better funtionality and programable keys you might want a Logitech or Microsoft product.

Well I am pleasantly surprised at ease of set-up, quality of product and quick transition time to configuration. This is my second wireless keyboard, my first was a low priced adesso. I quickly resold my adesso on an auction site due to it's lack luster performance and quirky configuration. This keyboard set-up quickly, dongle responded immediately, my computer recognized it - within mins I was up and running. I am using it with an old laptop connected to my t.v. monitor for surfing, etc and watching downloaded videos. Perfect use! I will explore its full potentiality as I go - but so far so good.

(More customer reviews)This keyboard is rediculously small. Take a sheet of notebook paper, fold it in half, and you have the footprint of this keyboard. It is nearly perfect for where I'm using it. I needed a keyboard for my CarPC. The CarPC touch screen is handy, but a wireless keyboard with a built in mouse is more effective for other tasks including entering navigation directions and or accessing the computer BIOS.
The keyboard is a QWERTY style keyboard with all the keys where you'd expect them. The layout is very similar to that of a laptop keyboard. There's a small inverted T cursor tree for navigation that really helps. There is a full compliment of function keys as well as the specialized windows key. The trackball is a great addition, but it is a little hypersensetive, so dial back the sensetivity in Windows to make the mouse more controllable.
PROS
-----
1. Small size for use in areas / situations with limited stowing options (CarPC)
2. Built in trackball mouse for navigation.
3. Wireless RF connection, doesn't require line of sight to work. 10' ft range.
4. The USB RF adaptor fits securely into the keyboard base, so it won't get lost.
CONS
----
1. The trackball ball doesn't fit firmly in its holder, so the movement isn't quite as smooth as it could be.
2. The keys are quite small if you have large hands like me (6'2", 250lb), but it is better than the Logitech Dinovo Mini.
3. Pricey. While it is nearly half the price of a Dinovo Mini, it is still pricey for a nitch item.
4. No dedicated on/off button which could save battery life.
OTHER
-----
A tweak to the keyboard layout could have made the keyboard smaller and the keys larger. Too bad they didn't place the trackball in the upper right corner and the mouse buttons in the upper left corner like on Microsoft and Adesso wireless media keyboards I own. There is quite a bit of wasted space in the curent design.
All in all, this is an excellent solution for people with specific needs, like my CarPC. I can simple store the keyboard in my door pocket and pull it out when either myself or my passenger(s) need to use it.

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a good wireless keyboard with built in mouse for some time. I have Media Center and I really wish I could control the PC portion from the couch. When I saw this for sale, I just had to have it. I immidiately took it home, hooked it up, and was sorely disappointed. The keyboard works fine. The Media Center specific buttons work fine. The mouse control is so bad I thought I had a defective unit. Alas, I found other reviews on the net indicating that i did not. The mouse looks like the little pointing device on Thinkpad laptops. It isn't. Rather than just pushing to the side, you have to push down to make it work. It seems that you have to push down in the direction you want to go. This means if you want to switch directions, you have to let up and push down in another direction. Trying to get the mouse onto anything is an exercise in frustration. If you want a good remote keyboard, consider this. If you want a remote mouse too, stay away. Mine will be going back to the store.

The mini Siig is the perfect trade-off, compact but allowing you to type comfortably. One can use on the lap with the arms in relaxed side by side , left or right index clicking and right thumb rolling the trackball. All fingers seem to fall perfectly on the right places.

(More customer reviews)This was a purchase made two weeks ago now that I can't decide if I regret or not. The keyboard does work and works well a good range (10 feet room is not big enough to try farther) from the computer. The media keys work very well, the install was simple and efficient, and the touch pad calculator is bar none awesome.
However, not all the keys work consistently, I have a Logitech S 510 wireless desktop that I have had for two years and it never drops keys as far as I can tell. I do write quite a lot, thousands of pages a year not joking, so I am picky about my key board. I would never hold this item up to the same standard however dropping approximately one key in ten is not acceptable for typing more than a search into Google. There are days that the keyboard works better than others as well, which I just can't figure out.
I have no idea how fast it eats batteries, it still seems to work with the ones it came with two weeks later. Finding "home" on the key board is also rather difficult, for touch type'ers out there, as the razed points on the keys are rather weak all the keys feel the same. However in defense of this key board it is nice and compact feels sturdy and pushes keys together to make the whole contraption more ergonomic.
It also goes to sleep, wakes up with Esc key, which takes getting used to but might be saving batteries which I like.
Final verdict touch pad great, media buttons awesome, calculator key pad absolutely ingenious, and keyboard for "typing" sucks!
