Kensington SlimBlade Media Mouse, Wireless Mouse with Media Controller (Dark Wine) K72282US Review

Kensington SlimBlade Media Mouse, Wireless Mouse with Media Controller (Dark Wine) K72282US

I got this mouse to replace my apple mighty mouse. As a replacement for the Mighty Mouse it works fantastic. The only thing I miss that keeps this from being a five star mouse is the middle click, which I too used for Expose.
The reverse itunes, dvd controls are an awesome plus which get rid of the need for the little remote. Also the optical sensitivity and speed is much better than Apple's. One of the things I loved about the mighty mouse was its 360 degree scrolling. This replaces it, and gives me opportunity to program expose keyboard shortcuts.
As a windows mouse, since windows doesn't have a 360 scroller mouse this is a great add on. Something one will find invaluable in design work.

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 Review

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the second Bluetooth mouse I've owned. The first Bluetooth mouse (from a different manufacturer) was so bad, I took it back after 2 days because:
- The 2 AAA batteries went flat after 2 days.
- After letting the mouse sit for a minute, moving the mouse gave no cursor movement until it came out of some sort of deep sleep.
- It performed badly on timber surfaces.
The Microsoft Laser 8000 has none of these faults. I've been using it for almost 3 weeks with min 12hr days and it has taken this long for the battery to go flat. Actually, it's not flat, but the red light says it's time for a charge. Amazing.
The mouse performs very well on timber surfaces, although it can do a minor mistrack sometimes, but not enough to cause frustration. It shows zero delay after leaving the mouse sit for any length of time - the cursor responds instantly.
The power switch is great, making it easy to throw the mouse in the backpack when travelling from home to the office or further. Initially I was sceptical about the smooth spin scroll wheel, but now I'm a convert.
Good Points:
-Battery life from a single charge lasts easily over 2 weeks.
-Single AA battery (cheap to buy & carry an emergency replacement if necessary).
-Power switch, great for switching the mouse off before travelling.
-Perform well on timber surfaces and every other surface I've tried.
-Cursor responds instantly, even if the mouse has been untouched for hours.
Bad points:
-The mouse requires the charging base to get recharged. The charger won't plug directly into the mouse and the mouse can't be plugged into a USB port to charge. This is bad for travellers, but at least the charging base is flat so it packs easily.
-The scroll wheel is stiff to press (ie middle mouse button).
Another review said the Instant View feature only works with the dongle. This wasn't the case for me. I have an IBM T42 and all the features work with the laptop's built in Bluetooth transceiver. I must confess I didn't like this feature as I use the middle button for other things.
In summary, I'm very happy with it. The pros easily outweigh the cons, so I have no qualms recommending it.

Griffin 2001-ADB iMate/Universal ADB to USB adapter Review

Griffin 2001-ADB iMate/Universal ADB to USB adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When we got my wife a new Mac a few years ago, we had to get an adapter to use her old ADB keyboard. (It's a $200 ergonomic keyboard, so an adapter was cheaper than a new one--and the anti-ergonomic keyboard Apple shipped with the Mac was not an option.) The one we got worked, most of the time, but it was a lot of hassle. We had to reinstall the drivers at least once; and it had a persistent problem that it kept hanging, or something, so that we had to unplug it and plug it back in again to reset it.
Then she moved to OS X, and the old adapter didn't work any more; no drivers for it. So, again, it was cheaper to get a new adapter than to get a new keyboard. This one turned out to be great: no flakiness, and it didn't need drivers; OS X just recognized it and it worked. It Just Works.

Logitech Corded Mouse (M500) Review

Logitech Corded Mouse (M500)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If a corded mouse is what you want, this is probably the best you'll get.
Like many Logitech mice, the M500 is ergnomically shaped for comfort and reduced strain/tension. Logitech mice are the most comfortable I have used. You can mouse around for hours with much less strain than when using mice from other manufacturers.
Like Logitech's more recent models, the M500 has a scroll wheel that you can switch between regular scrolling and "hyper scrolling," where you give the wheel a little flick and it scrolls very quickly through huge amounts of data. Once you try this feature, you won't go back to a mouse that doesn't have it.
You can also push the scroll wheel to the left or right for horizontal scrolling.
The M500 also has forward and back buttons within easy reach of the thumb, useful for quickly jumping through website or powerpoint slides.
It is a laser mouse, which is much more precise than the older optical mice. It tracks well on most surfaces I've tried, though of course not on glass (Logitech makes more expensive mice that track well on glass).
There are only two things I'd caution you about before purchasing. First, this mouse is really designed to be used by the right hand only. It's possible to use it with the left hand, but it's not as comfortable, and using the forward/back buttons isn't nearly as practical or easy with the left hand as with the right.
Second, this is a corded mouse. You might prefer cordless. For me, corded mice have advantages: no battery to wear out, no charging cradles, no usb receiver to lose, and I've found that corded mice track better than many cordless mice (though the very newest cordless mice, like Logitech's "Anywhere MX" and "Performance MX" track very, very well).
In summary, if you want a right-handed corded mouse, please give this a try. I've tried many, and this is the only one I'd rate as excellent. It's very very comfortable, it tracks very well, and the hyper-scrolling and other features are very well-thought out and implemented. And it's much cheaper than cordless mice offering the same feature set.

The Logitech Corded Mouse M500 with hyper-fast scrolling for increased productivity. A nearly frictionless scroll wheel lets you fly through long documents and Web pages with a single flick. Or switch to click-to-click mode for precise, line-by-line navigation of lists, slides, images, and menus. 1000 dpi laser precision outperforms optical mice. Experience smoother cursor control on virtually any surface.* Soft side grips and a contoured design give you more support and control. Backward/Forward buttons let you move through Web pages and navigate your photo albums with ease. Plug-and-play USB works right out of the box—just plug it in.

Visikey Large Print Keyboard for PC & Mac Review

Visikey Large Print Keyboard for PC and Mac
Average Reviews:

This keyboard is pretty good once you get the latest drivers. I installed the Mac drivers from the CD and nothing seemed to work. Once I downloaded the latest driver from the visikey web site everything worked fine. It would have been nice if somewhere on the install CD it told you what operating system the driver actually supported.
