Kensington 5.0 Expert 4 Button Mouse Review

I own three of these - one for each computer I regularly use. They last forever, and never even need cleaning as they never get jumpy. There is never any slippage, so it works much better than a ball-based mouse for things like Quake where you may want to make fast but precise movements.
There are four buttons which can be programmed to do whatever you want. For example, I set one of the extra buttons to be the back button in my web browser. Now I can move through web sites one-handed without having to move the pointed up over the back button constantly. This also allowed me to switch my IE toolbar to use small icons with no text labels, freeing up screen space.
The only possible suggestion I can come up with is that it would be nice if they added on a scroll-wheel like all the new mice seem to have.
I'll never go back to using regular mice as long as Kensington keeps making these.

It also offers auto scroll and includes a set of predefined pop-up menus with shortcuts for Microsoft Word, Netscape Navigator, and other applications. The large trackball lets you control the cursor with minimal hand and arm movement, and the four extra-large buttons include identifying outer ridges for use without looking.

XARMOR-U9BL Backlit Keyboard Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard Review

XARMOR-U9BL Backlit Keyboard Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard

The XArmor is an excellent keyboard. I use it for 3 weeks now and I wouldn't replace it by a more conventional (and less noisy) keyboard. The clicky sound of the mechanical key switches and the 2 USB 2.0 port and finally the fact that it doesn't require any particular software or driver to make it works on Linux make it a very good product. The jack connector to plug a microphone and stereo speaker, the gold plated connector to plug the keyboard to the PC and the backlit keys are a good plus.
I had the opportunity to play a multiplayer game on split screen, one player control the interface using a mix of mouse and keyboard while the other use only the keyboard. We played around 30 minutes and never encounter any problem of missed keys or "key combination" leading to a false interpretation of the key pressed by the game, all thanks to the mechanical switch of the keys.
If you miss the good old IBM model M keyboards and want such device with a more modern design, I recommend to consider this product as a good alternative.

SteelSeries 7G Keyboard (Black) Review

SteelSeries 7G Keyboard (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For three years I'm looking for the perfect keyboard. Finally I found it. It was a long way beginning with the IBM PS/2 Keyboard, Cherry G80, Logitech G15 and Razer Tarantula. To make a long story short:
IBM and Cherry weren't gaming keyboards. Both are only Alpha N-key rollover. That means you cannot press the 'W' + 'D' and the 'E' key at once. In the gaming scene it's called "Ghost Key Effect". Edit a file and press and hold the 'W' key, then add the 'D' until 'd' is repeated. If you then add the 'E' key, the repetition stops. The keyboard is not able to solve this problem as these keys - among others - are on the same cluster (on some Keyboards there are other combinations like W+S+D).
The Logitech was even worse! It's only called a gaming keyboard but it's only alpha N-Key rollover, needs driver to work properly and finally it has membrane Switches.
The Razer Tarantula was the first real gaming keyboard allowing full N-Key rollover. For the first time I got rid of the ghost key effect. Here you can press any key combination. But: you cannot press 10 Keys at the same time like Razer said! As it is an USB keyboard and the USB limit is 6 Keys. Ergo: only 6 Keys at the same time. But it was a huge leap from a G15 to the Tarantula. The biggest problem was that the Tarantula needed also drivers to work properly.
Finally the optimum keyboard: Steelseries 7G!
Put all you need together you get the 7G!!
The best key switches (Cherry linear MX-series switch) and a real FULL N-Key rollover! Press ALL keys at the same time ... surprise: it's there!!! NO DRIVER!! Great!!! Just plug in - and it works. No updates, no bug fixes, no incompatibility problems - just: rock solid! And it saves memory and CPU time.
The arm rest is perfectly build and the keyboard of state of the art quality.
No bling, no extras just: pure performance!
About the price:
I spent more money on the Tarantula and I regret it. This keyboard is worth its money.
