(More customer reviews)I was really excited about getting this mouse when I first heard of it. I mainly wanted it to use the thumb hat for movement in games. I got mine but within just a couple of hours the left direction on the hat lost its "click". I had to press hard on it to get it to respond, which of course ruined the ergonomics of the thing.
I was assured this was an isolated case though and thanks to Amazon's great replacement policy I soon had a new mouse to play with. This one lasted a while longer, about two weeks, but then it developed the exact same problem. I have to come to the conclusion that the hat buttons just can't stand up to extended use. I'm very disappointed because I've owned Saitek joysticks and throttles for many years and never had a problem with them.
Other than that problem the mouse is decent. The expanding size function is a neat trick and can help the mouse fit better in your hand. The programming software is really powerful and I like having multiple profiles, as well as being able to switch button functions between 3 sets with one button press. But ultimately I can't have a mouse whose buttons stop working after a short time. Especially when my years-old MX 1000 performs exactly the same as the day I bought it.
