(More customer reviews)I bought this computer to have as a living room family computer. The touch screen capability and sleep look made me think it would be a great media server as well since everyone could run their iTunes libraries from it as well as feed movies to the TV and record with the TV tuner.
I've has it now for 5 months and:
1. Touch screen is no longer working properly and the available calibration tools can't fix the problem.
2. Keyboard stops responding intermittently and had to be replaced with a wired keyboard.
4. As another user (eclectic_in_CA) mentioned, if you launch the touchsmart then iTunes will not display properly. Also iTunes must be open in order for the touchsmart media player to be able to read your iTunes libraries, which then had the wrong album art attached to many albums.
I do like:
1. The size and brightness of the display
2. Once we learned not to open iTunes after launching touchsmart we all got along fine.
3. I currently have the touchsmart PC acting as my media server which feeds my PS3 and 2 TV's in addition to acting as a DVR to record from 1 of my direct tv receivers.
4. We can easily show pictures and videos to friends and family.
After it's all said and done, it delivered what it said it would....but not to full scale. You have to learn to work around it's glitches.

(More customer reviews)This laptop hit the sweet spot for me. I had a netbook, the MSI Wind, and it was great for what it was. However, the 1024x600 screen size was a constant issue for me..many programs weren't really happy with that resolution. My eyes are fine, and screen size isn't an issue, but the resolution was.
So my next laptop I also wanted it to be ultraportable, but I need a 720p minimum size resolution AND a discrete graphics card (and NOT an Intel.) I previously had dell 17" with a Nvidia 7900m GO video card - it was basically my traveling gaming laptop - however the size and weight got to be way too much for me.
The DV2 has everything I need, and these are some notable features.
- A discrete video card, ATI 3410 512MB (had to play TF2 and City of Heroes with no problem - I like to do light gaming). It's a decent card, but it won't replace a real strong gaming laptop or desktop but enough for my needs. This chart helps explain how the video cards stack up:[...]

(More customer reviews)This is a great laptop. I read reviews and info about this for more than a month before laying down the cash for it. I've been extremely happy with it. It's thin and sexy. It's light (especially for a 15 inch laptop). It's extremely cool. The performance is good but not amazing. I mostly work with music editing and notation software and this laptop has handled all them fine. I play games online with it and I have yet to find a game that it can't handle (it should be noted I only play games from the browser and have no idea how a real computer game would do, but I know since this doesn't have a graphics card it probably wouldn't do well with 3d graphics, but I dont really know.) For everyday computing this computer has all the power you need. The 15 inch model is great too. The keyboard is full sized (which was somewhat of an adjustment after using cramped keyboards for so long) and the number pad is extremely helpful (at least to me).
The battery life is why you buy this computer. All day computing is no lie. I used to own a Dell and a Toshiba which got about 3 hours battery life at best, and then up to 10 minutes as they got old. It's been hard to break the habit of packing my power adapter when I leave but I've never needed it. I can go to school all day, take my computer to class, work in the library or cafeteria and never need to worry about running out of juice. If I crank it up to "High Performance" I can get a solid 5 to 6 hours of battery, on "Power Saver" I get an easy 8 and a half and if I turn off the WiFi I can get a little more then 10 hours. I've never, never, never, run it down completely during normal use.
Overall a great computer at a great price. Everything you need with an unbelievable battery life. Free yourself from the wall socket and buy this computer!
