(More customer reviews)No extra AC power cord needed. My DVD player in my laptop went out and the laptop manufacturer wanted $450 for an in-case proprietary replacement. I use the DVD player a lot on the plane and unless I'm in first class, don't have power. This one runs off the USB power. It's very slim and not bulky. Just what I needed. I only have one question. Why don't they sell this thing in computer retail stores. It's a winner!
