(More customer reviews)Within 6 months of purchasing this laptop, the DC jack became loose and would only charge intermittently. This reduced the battery life before I could have it repaired. The space bar was also not working correctly. Although it was under warranty, I had to pay shipping to Acer to repair. They returned it 3 weeks later (who wants to be without their new laptop for 3 weeks) but broke the wireless LAN switch in the process of fixing the DC jack. I called them back immediately. I was able to convince them to pay shipping back to them. It took another three weeks to repair that issue, leaving me without a computer for 6 weeks.
It's been a year since then. The new DC jack that they installed is now broken in the same way it broke the first time. Only this time it isn't under warranty. The part alone costs between $70-$90 depending on where you find it. So that's the minimum cost of repairing it if you know someone who has the expertise to repair it. Due to the intermittent charging, my battery life is now due to an hour with fully charged.
I would never recommend Acer laptops for anyone.

Please match your original screen's BACKLIGHT TYPE, SIZE, and RESOLUTION before you purchase this item, because some laptop models come with more than one type of screens
